Our mission is to
honor local veterans
by telling their stories.
Visit. Listen. Honor.
Located in historic Downtown Manassas, the Freedom Museum provides visitors with the opportunity to experience history, become active participants in the drama and patriotic spirit that unfold in the Museum’s exhibits and programs. A visit to the Freedom Museum is evocative and interactive.
Visit the Museum.
There are many ways to visit the museum. We provide tours to private citizens, schools, boys and girls organizations, and many more types of organizations. You’ll be given a tour by a local veteran as they embark you on the journey of Prince William veterans from the beginning of the 20th century to present day. To arrange a visit, please schedule a tour with one of our veteran guides. We are located at 9129 Center Street, Manassas, VA 20110.
Hours of Operation:
Thursday & Friday: 2PM-5PM
Saturdays: 10am-6pm
Sundays: 1pm-5pm
Learn About Their Stories.
If you’re unable to attend the museum in person, don’t fret! We have some of our local veteran stories showcased on the website. Check back each month for new content as we embark on a new series focused on artifact analyses and “day in the life” retellings.
Honor Their Sacrifice.
In order to preserve the memory of our local veterans, the museum relies on donations from its patrons. By making
a donation, you will be helping to honor veterans as the Freedom Museum preserves veterans’ memories, stories,
and artifacts.

Founder
Charles "Chuck" Colgan, Jr.
We remember the heart and passion Chuck had for sharing the stories of local veterans. He would sit and listen to veterans while reminiscing about his time in Vietnam. Chuck was a photographer in Vietnam and captured the stories of lives lost, time spent, and the faces of those who fought for freedom. Remembering why we are free was his hope to share with everyone. His memory lives on in the museum each day.
